Abstract:

Several studies have been carried out on engineering geology and geotechnical properties of Tehran alluvium with emphasis on cementation, cohesion, strength, etc. However, there are few studies with focus on excavation stability and pattern. This paper focuses on excavation pattern of Fine grained alluvium in southern Tehran. Thus, physical and mechanical properties of soil were determined from field investigation and laboratory tests. Afterward, stability analyses were performed using GeoStudio software with Morgenstern-price method based on limit equilibrium. According to the results, the studied region was divided into three zones: D 1, D2 and D3 based on excavation stability pattern. Because of low presence of sand in D 1 zone, safe excavation depth is more than the others. The excavation depth of vertical wall in D2 and D3 zones is the same, but in deeper excavations in both zones, D3 zone showed more instability.

Introduction: Academic faculty members need to emphasize ethical principles in order to improve higher education, with the understanding of this importance, the current research was conducted with the aim of designing the ethical model of academic faculty members in Iran's higher education. Material & Methods: This research is a type of qualitative study that uses foundational data theory. The participants, including experts and faculty members of the country's public universities, who were responsible for the promotion of academic members, were selected as key informants through a targeted sampling method of 45 people. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews. The reliability and validity of the data were obtained from the two methods of reviewing the participants and recoding by experts. Data were analyzed by open, central and selective coding. Results: The results showed that the moral model of faculty members in Iran's higher education is explained in 10 main categories and 27 subcategories. Major and core categories in the form of 6 dimensions of causal conditions including (individual factors, organizational factors), core (cultural-educational, educational ethics, research ethics, scientific-executive), background conditions (higher education policies, moral activism), intervening conditions (environmental factors), strategies (micro level-university, macro level-higher education) and consequences (individual and organizational) were elevated to a higher abstract level and finally the research paradigm model was presented. Conclusion: The regulations for the promotion of academic staff members in Iran require a detailed revision of the content with an ethical and qualitative approach in order to make the indicators of the promotion regulations efficient and effective.

Abstract:

Introduction: During filling a silo, granular material containing a range of particle sizes, the Fine material accumulates under the filling point. The inclined surface of stationary bed particle which is formed in silos during filling process acts similar to a sieve through which the smaller particle fall. This effect is called sifting. As a result of the mentioned effect, much Finer particles form a vertical cylindrical zone of high concentration at the silo center. For optimal design in industrial process such as aeration of stored products in silos, filling silos, and wherever granular materials are handled, it is necessary to survey the distribution of the Fine materials depending on product and process properties. The objectives of present study were: (a) To study Fine change as affected by substantial parameters, (b) To model Fine changes at different conditions in silos. Materials and Methods: In the present study, an experimental setup consist of a main container, elevator, trapezoidal container and experimental silo was designed and built. Fine content was deFined by BCFM (broken corn and foreign material). By applying a new approach, sampling was performed in a radial and vertical direction. The position of each sampling point was determined with a scaled distance from center (R) and from bottom (Z). Local BCFM (BCL) was deFined as the value of BCFM in each sampling point. Influential parameters namely, initial BCFM (BCI), volume flow rate (Q) and fill pipe diameter (DF) were considered as treatments. Non-linear regression technique was applied on the experimental data to predict the distribution pattern of Fines into the pilot-scale silo. The most appropriate model in a try and error procedure was selected based on highest value of R2 and least value of χ 2, RMSE and MRDM. Results and Discussions: According to the results of ANOVA, it was found that the effects of all parameters were significant at 5% probability. BCL decreased nonlinearly with a concave down decreasing trend along radial direction due to sifting effect. As a result, most amount of Fines remained in the sections closer to the center of the silo. Fine distribution became more uniform with decreasing Z and increasing BCI and DF. Also, the distribution of Fine became more uniform with increasing Q. BCL was a nonlinear function of R and a linear function of Z, BCI, Q and DF. Although including more and complex terms increased the model complexity but in the present study considering BCL as an exponential function of R and as an implicit function of Z and R (ZR) improved the quality of the model significantly. The values of 0. 94, 1. 14, 1. 06, 11. 39 for R2, χ 2, RMSE and MRDM, respectively, gave the best model. The results showed, considerable accumulation of Fines occurred at the center of the silo which increased with increase of level of Z. Also, low concentration of Fine occurred at the periphery of the silo especially at higher levels of Z. It means that maximum non-uniformity of Fine distribution occurred at higher levels of Z. Conclusions: The present study investigated distribution of Fines during filling affected by main parameters namely, initial BCFM, volume flow rate and fill pipe diameter in a pilot scale silo. A new procedure was developed for measuring the Fine material along radial and vertical directions. distribution of Fine was modeled using a developed equation considering the effects of main parameters. The results showed that distribution of Fine becomes more uniform with decreasing height and increasing initial BCFM, volume flow rate and fill pipe diameter.

Abstract:

One of the obvious reasons for most disorders in network service provisioning is network path congestion. Congestion avoidance in today's networks is too costly and sometimes impossible. With the introduction of SDN, centralizing the equipment's control plane has become possible. This paper presents an enhanced method named ESV-DBRA to avoid congestion in multi-tenant SDN networks. At first, ESV-DBRA monitors the traffic load and delay of all network paths for each tenant individually. Then, by merging the parameters obtained from the monitoring, the Service Level Agreements (SLA), and a novel proposed cost function, it calculates the cost of the network paths per tenant. As a result, traffic for each tenant is routed through the path/paths at the lowest possible cost from the tenant's perspective. Next, the bandwidth quotas will be calculated and assigned to the tenants over their optimal routes. Afterward, whenever congestion is likely to occur in a path, ESV-DBRA automatically changes the route or bandwidth of the tenants' traffic related to this path to avoid congestion. Related algorithms are also proposed.Eventually, simulations show that the proposed method effectively increases bandwidth utilization by 10.76%.

Abstract:

Background and Aim: Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy is an effective diagnostic method in the field of medical pathologies. Easiness, accuracy, validity and usefulness of this method have been verified frequently. This method is useful not only for soft tisse or even intraosseous lesions, but also recurrence of tumors (metastasis), resistence to treatment, verification of malignancy, differentiation between malignancy and benignment and determination of organisms causes infection. Unfortunately the use of this method is not common in dental pathology. So this study intendes to show the diagnostic value of FNA specially for intraosseous lesions causing jaw radiolucency. Methods and Materials: This investigation consisted of 80 patients who were referred to Taleghani General Hospital who were then referred to the pathology or surgery departments at Shahid Beheshti dental school.Cases consist of 29 females (36.25) % and 51 males (63.75%). Sampletaking was conducted using a 10 cc, gauge 19 syringe. Results: Results show 90% sensitivity and 75% specificity for jaw radiolucent lesions in FNA method. Correlation between FNA and jaw radiolucencies was significant (P<0.001) and it's power was at equal accepctable level according to cramer's V (phi - cramer's =0.623). Based on FNA cytology power, lesions with positive predictive value of 78.30 had a microscopic view compatible to the findings of other similar studies. Conclusion: FNA can be used as a reliable method for rapid, early and in expensive diagnosis, resulting in an on time, and appropriate treatment plan.

Abstract:

A novel intelligent neural optimizer with two objective functions is designed for electrical distribution systems. The presented method is faster than alternative optimization methods and is comparable with the most powerful and precise ones. This optimizer is much smaller than similar neural systems. In this work, two intelligent estimators are designed, a load flow program is coded, and a special modified heuristic optimization algorithm is developed and used too. The load pattern concept is used for training ANNs. Finally, the designed optimizer is tested on an example distribution system; simulation results are presented, and compared with similar systems.
